Dogs of the Month- Dogs of Pompeii

Doing my recent trip to italy I visited this ancient city “Pompaii” Italy and photographed some of the Dogs of Pompeii and the city. Pompeii was partially destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79, and it was lost for nearly 1700 years before its accidental rediscovery in 1749. The dogs that are seen here live there and have done so for many years. Italy is now looking for people who would like to give them good homes.

“Trapper’s” portrait was a surprise Christmas present for his master this year, he came marching into the studio like he owned the place. He is a sweat heart, and now he has me wanting to get a standard poodle as my next dog.

Artfullydog will have a display at Paws as customers come into shop. Paws has just move to their new location in the suburbs of Atlanta.
“Arron” a beautiful standard Poodle belongs to the shop owner.

”Winston” is the name of this beautiful Dachshund who was rescured and had been selected to be put down. A telephone call to area Dachshund rescure group saved his life. Please when all possible adopt a pet. I really enjoyed this photo session Winston was a doll.

The name “dachshund” is of German origin and literally means “badger dog”, from Dachs (“badger”) and Hund (“dog”). Because of their long, narrow build, they are often nicknamed hot dog, wiener dogor sausage dog. Although “dachshund” is a German word, in modern German they are also commonly known by the name Dackel; in the case of the formally certified hunting and tracking rank, the name Teckel is used.

Atlanta Dog Photographer-White Bichon

This Bichon is always mistaken for a stuff animal. “Tess” has the round Bichon cut which is the traditional cut for a Bichons. These images were taken using natural lighting.

A Bichon Frise, meaning cute curling white lap dog, is a small breed of dog of the Bichon Type. They are popular pets, similar in appearance to, but larger than, the Maltese.

So much fun for good cause. Atlanta Humane Society hosted the first annual Fur Fest to say “Thank You” to the Atlanta community for all their support. Many of the activities were free, crafts for kids, games, raffles, music and food. Many of our area dogs were adopted to great families. Help save more lives…by adopting this October. Atlanta Dog Photographer-West Highland White Terrier

West Highland White Terrier- “Sidney” or ” Sue, Sue”. Loves her stuff rabbit toy. She loves running after it down the long foyer hall way in her home. We had a great time playing with her to get these images.

The West Highland White Terrier breed originates from Scotland. With a shoulder height of around 11, they weigh in at an average of 16 and a half pounds. The West Highland White Terrier’s coat is always white and is double layered. The topcoat is rough and hard, whilst the undercoat is short and soft.

Sidney is very active, and loves to run and play as much as possible.

“Harry” believed to be a Bichon mix was rescued from a shelter in Rome, Ga. by Small Paws. Small Paws was called to help this little guy, they drive all the way to Rome, Ga. from Atlanta to pick him up. Harry has come a long way when the foster parents pick him up he had no hair, but look at him now. For this reason Artfullydog names “Harry” its Dog of the Month. Artfullydog Photography was called upon to photograph Harry to help with the pet adaption process. He is up for adoption, please if anyone is interested let us know, contact below.
